Summary

This photograph shows the Kodak Women's Basketball team in about 1932 at Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd's factory in Abbotsford.

The team was made up of female staff members from the Developing and Printing department (D & P) and the Film department. One of the players is Margaret 'Peg' Newing, who worked for Kodak at its Abbotsford factory, and played with the company basketball team. The team would practice at lunch and after hours. Peg Newing was the maternal grandmother of the contributor who donated this photograph to the Museum's collection.

A group of 15 women in dresses standing in two rows. The central woman is holding a basketball. A fence is in the background, and there is a small palm tree to the left and other trees behind to the right. A barrel or bin is at right of the women.
