Summary

Female figure constructed from found material, including a cigar box, sticks and cloth, dressed for a feast. The doll made by an eight year old girl from the Douar Ouaraben village, in 2007. According to the donor '(The doll was) used for pretend play about a rich family, played with in a small (dolls) house, delineated with stones.'

It is part of a group of traditional toys collected in the Anti-Atlas area of Morocco by Belgium Socio-cultural Anthropologist Jean-Pierre Rossie, during the period 2005-2011.

Physical Description

Human figure with a cigar box torso, stick for arms and cloth fragments on body (held with strip of fabric at waist) and head (tied at back). The dress has a brown stain at lower front.
