Summary
Toy helicopter with blades in cross form, constucted from wood, metal and string. It is activated by pulling the rope to propel the blades, and was made by an 11 year old boy from the Ikenwen village, Tiznit Province, in 2006.
It is part of a group of traditional toys collected in the Anti-Atlas area of Morocco by Belgium Socio-cultural Anthropologist Jean-Pierre Rossie, during the period 2005-2011.
Physical Description
Toy helicopter made from bamboo. A narrow stick extends from within its main body, onto which a pair of blades in cross form are attached. A pull string extends from a hole in the side of the main body, with a bamboo finger ring at its end.
