Advertising slogans include 'Make real movies on the snowfields' and 'Earn your photography badge with the easy-to-use Kodak Brownie Flash Outfit' The advertisements often have their journal source and date typed in the top centre of the clipping, and have been adhered to the scrapbook with glue. Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper scrapbook with approximately 94 brown paper pages, plus brown paper front and back cover bound with a cardboard spine and cotton string. It contains paper based advertising clippings and promotional material. A square yellow label is adhered to the front cover. A handwritten index on the inside front cover lists the contents in blue and black ink. Each page is numbered in the top outer corner in blue ink and the contents of each page handwritten in the top centre. Each set of clippings has a typed or handwritten label. There is a metal paperclip attached the second last page. The promotional materials range in size from 90 mm (W) x 118 mm (H) to 200 mm (W) x 269 mm (H).
