The products and subjects include: cameras, photographic film, colour film, flash photography and, photographic exhibitions, printing, x-ray photography, enlargers, projectors and Ross Binoculars.
Advertising slogans include 'The Cinevox Master. It's Battery Operated', 'In education, selling, or entertainment - motion pictures will tell a better story on a Cinevox Projector', 'Kodak Presents "Modern Photo-Engraving"', 'Ross. The world's best binoculars', 'An Open and Shut Case. Snapshots Exposed!', '...yet another snapshot for her Kodak Album', and 'Let Kodak make a real picture for you'.
This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
Physical Description
Large paper scrapbook with 96 brown paper pages, plus brown paper front and back cover, bound with cardboard. The book contains paper-based advertising clippings and booklets. A typed index on the inside front cover lists the contents to page 97 (This indicates one page is now missing). Clippings are printed in black and white and colour on both gloss and matte paper and card. All clippings are attached with glue. Includes handwritten text in ink and pencil identifying the original source. The promotional materials range in size from 119 mm (W) x 153 mm (H) to 151 mm (W) x 230 mm (H).
