The contents include advertising proofs for Kodak products between 1958 and 1959. Advertising slogans include 'Add the magic of colour naturally, with Kodachrome colour film' and 'remember all your EASTER FUN in pictures the easy, low cost KODAK way!' Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd. The Scrapbook covers each month from Feb-Dec of 1950 and Jan-June of 1959. Included in the scrapbook are typed pages detailing the original source of the material as well as the date it was collected.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper scrapbook with 98 brown paper pages and cover, bound with cardboard and five metal staples along the spine. The last 28 pages have been left blank. The book contains paper-based advertising clippings, mostly from newspapers and in black and white. Pages are numbered 1 - 101, with typed or handwritten notes listing publications. All clippings are attached with sticky tape or glue, and sometimes held together with paperclips and will have to be opened by conservation. A number of clippings have come loose inside the scrapbook. The promotional materials range in size from 47 mm (W) x 80 mm (H) to 210 mm (W) x 384 mm (H).
