Scrapbook compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 37 archival items produced circa 1958.

The archival items include promotional clippings and advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include camera accessories, cameras, developers, film projectors, Kodak chemicals, photo-finishing products, photographic film.

A letter inside discussing advertising approaches is dated 15 Sep 1958. Presumably, clusters refers to this type of small, boxed advert often seen in product catalogues and specialist magazines. These clusters include an image of the product along with a brief product description printed below.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper scrapbook with red plastic binding and 67 brown paper pages containing black and white paper advertising proofs. The last 30 pages have been left blank. The proofs have corrections and notes written in blue ink and pencil. Clippings were glued in but some have come loose, and there was a loose handwritten letter tucked into the 6th page. The promotional materials range in size from 38mm (W) x 48mm (H) to 255mm(W) x 270mm (H).
