Summary

Catalogue issued by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd for the 'Memorial Exhibition of Character Portrait Studies' by the late Dr Julian Smith, presented 'in recognition of the Tenth Anniversary of the passing of a Master Artist and a Gracious Gentleman'. The exhibition was to be shown at the Kodak Galleries in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney in Spring 1958.

The catalogue lists the titles of all 112 works exhibited and features a black and white image titled 'Self Portrait', of Dr Smith on the back cover.

These works are now held by the National Gallery of Victoria.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This catalogue was originally housed in the Kodak Business Archive. It is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
