Summary

Photograph, taken circa 1987 of Kodak Australasia employees and visiting Xiamen Photographic Material Co Ltd employees at Kodak Australasia's Coburg plant.

Steve Brain, seen here on the far left, second row, was one of 3 Australians involved in setting up a Kodak factory in China. Steve's work in Quality Assurance extended across multiple products so he had a broad knowledge of production processes. It was for this reason that he was hired to provide support, on behalf of Kodak Australasia and Eastman Kodak Company, to the Chinese XPMC in the establishment of colour film production in China.

Others identified include: Lindsay Arnold (back row, fifth from the right) and Phillip Plain (back row, third from the right).

Steve Brain worked as a production engineer for Kodak for 25 years.

This image was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
