Summary

A poster featuring 3 photographs and a sketch of the Kodak Australasia Retail Service Centre in Rockhampton, Queensland. Each photograph has a typed caption glued beneath it. A photocopied sketch of the shopfront was once stapled to the top right corner. The photographs are primarily street scenes focusing on the signage.

This poster is one of nineteen handmade posters featuring street views and close ups of signage at different Kodak Australasia retail outlets and warehouses around Australia, including Adelaide, Launceston, Hobart, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Perth, Brisbane, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This poster is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
