Summary

An original telegram from Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, to Kodak Australasia employee Brian Phillipson at Kodak Coburg, congratulating him for 25 years service. The telegram is dated 26 February 1980, and was was forwarded to Brian by Kodak employee Noel Monteith. The telegram is stapled to an original memo dated February 28, 1980 (two days later).

Brian Phillipson worked with Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd for 36 years from 1955 to 1990. Brian worked in paper coating at Abbotsford, then in stores, after which he spent 22 years developing safe lighting technology for use in the darkened environment required for photographic product manufacture and finishing at the Coburg factory.

This document was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Rectangular telegram on lightweight paper, printed with red and blue ink. It is stapled to the back of an A5 page memorandum, printed on Kodak letterhead and signed in blue ink.
