Summary

Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd issued Retiree identification card issued to Brian Phillipson. The Retiree Card was issued to all former Kodak employees upon their retirement, provided they had given a number of years service to the company. It could be used for receiving discounts at Kodak affiliated outlets and as identification for Retiree functions and events.

Brian Phillipson worked with Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd for 36 years from 1955 to 1990. Brian worked in paper coating at Abbotsford, then Stores, after which he spent 22 years developing safe lighting technology for use in the darkened environment required for photographic product manufacture and finishing at the Coburg factory.

This document was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
