This image is part of an album produced by Kodak, titled 'Emulsion Department: Production and Experimental'. It belonged to Ian 'Charlie' Yelland, who worked for Kodak Australasia Emulsion Department for 46 years, retiring in 1978.

This image complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Description of Content

Two men wearing laboratory coats standing on opposite sides of a large wooden bench in the film melting control room. One of the men is measuring a powdered substance from a large glass jar on to scales, while the other looks at a frame. Four racks of test tubes are positioned at the other end of the bench. In the background are two more benches that line the walls of the room. Above the bench on the left are two shelves holding a variety of glass jars.
