Summary

Black and white photograph of Noel Swan and five other Kodak staff posing for a group photo in the grounds of the Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd factory at Abbotsford, likely during a visit from Noel while on leave from his Army training.

According to Noel, this photograph features some of the V-Mail department staff, including an American serviceman (back left) who supervised the V-Mail work at Kodak, as well as a worker who processed the V-Mail with Noel (back middle), Noel Swan (back right), two girls from the V-Mail unit (front) and the manager of the unit (front middle).

This photograph was originally tucked into a scrapbook compiled by Noel's mother. The scrapbook contains telegrams and letters from his mother and other family members, as well as newsletters and comfort parcels from the Kodak Comfort Fund, and newspaper cuttings and official documents relating to his training, leave and service. Noel was moved around Australia extensively during his training and service before he was de-mobbed, and the scrapbook reflects his travel around the country at this time.
