Letter of reference for former MacRobertson Pty Ltd employee J. H. Baker, dated 31 January 1946, on yellow letterhead paper, with additional copy and covering letter.

John Henry Baker had worked in the Accounts Branch from 1937 to 1941 as an office clerk, and left at the age of 21 to serve in the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II. After the war he completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne under the Commonwealth Reconstruction Training Scheme (CRTS), married and became a French teacher in Victorian high schools.

Physical Description

Typed letter of reference printed on yellow letterhead paper with drawn image of MacRobertson factory buildings at top, with second copy on plain white paper (.1) and a covering letter also on plain white paper (.2). Each has been folded several times horizontally; the yellow letter has losses from insect damage on right edge, top left and bottom centre, and a diagonal crease.
