Summary

Programme for the First Australian Exhibition of Women's Work, held at the (Royal) Exhibition Building, Melbourne, from 23 October to 30 November 1907. It was presented by the Chairman of the Executive Committee, John Grice, to Mr C. R. Long, of the Education Department, who represented the department on the Executive Committee of the exhibition and played a key role in organising the State School Needlework display at the exhibition.

The exhibition included competitive and non-competitive exhibitions in a number of areas including fine arts, applied arts, photography, horticulture, literary, music and elocution, physical culture, needlework, cookery, laundry, teaching and nursing. There was also a section for trade exhibitors as well as a full program of demonstrations, events and concerts.

Hardcover cloth bound programme with faded purple cover and text in black. Consisting of 50 pages printed with extensive text, along with some black and white images and two lithographed diplomas at back.
