Fencing mask made by Allstar. It was used by Australian fencing champion, Greg Benko. Born in 1952 to Hungarian parents Greg Benko began fencing at the age of 12, when he was 'discovered' by Olympic Coach Mike O'Brien in a physical education class at Bentleigh High School. He currently (2010) remains Australia's best-placed Olympic fencer, coming 6th in the individual foil in the Montreal Olympics in 1976, and is one of only two Australian men to win the open national title for all three weapons (foil, epée and sabre ) in a single year.

Physical Description

Oval shaped fencing mask designed to fit over the face and scalp of the user. Face is covered by a oval shaped metal mesh dome, which is padded around the scalp and chin areas and around the inner edge. Across the top is stretch a cloth sweat band. Attached to the mask is a curved metal mesh scalp and ear guard which is padded around the ear area. A rivet is attached to the top of the guard, and a padded chin protector it attached to the bottom.
