Summary
Child's off-white linen bloomers. Part of a small collection of clothing used at Emily McPherson College, Melbourne, as object lessons and/or demonstration works. They were made around 1940 by previous students of the college, handwork being an essential part of the course. The donor, Miss Findley, taught at the College.
Physical Description
Child's bloomers made from off-white linen. The bloomers are gathered from waistband which has two buttonholes on back and three on front. There are no buttons. There is also small opening at front, near crotch. Legs have a deep horizontal tuck and deep flounce of broderie anglaise. Garment has flat-fell seams throughout and is entirely handstitched. The broderie anglaise is perhaps hand-made.
