Summary

A rectangular piece of red material with eight different seams sewn on it, and the name of each seam placed above it. The sampler was made around 1941 to 1943, during World War II. It was apparently used for teaching at Emily McPherson College of Domestic Science, Melbourne.

The donor, Lexie Luly, may be the same person mentioned in the 1941 Argus 22 February 1941: a Presbyterian Ladies College student who won a scholarship attend Emily McPherson College to do a diploma in needlecraft.
