Certificate of Mailing issued to Julius, it is postmarked Salzburg, Austria on 7 February 1957. Julius sent a parcel of tropical fruit from Austria to his mother in Hungary, just before he departed for Australia to prove to her that he wouldn't go hungry in the West. Julius fled Hungary for Austria following the Soviet invasion in late 1956. He applied to migrate to Australia and the USA, with the Australian application coming through first. He was accepted to migrate to Australia and recalls being glad as he wanted to be so far away he couldn't return to Hungary if he got homesick.
