Summary
Helmet made for World War II, circa 1940-1945. The helmet was surplus to requirements, and was eventually sold in a disposals shop in Melbourne in 1993, when it was acquired by Museum Victoria.
Probably steel.
Physical Description
World War II infantry helmet. Painted khaki outside; inside fitted with leather and rubber head-band; chin strap of webbing with buckle, attached on either side by metal loops.
