Badge promoting a fundraiser for the Australian Aboriginal Hostels Building & Development Appeal.
Part of collection of badges collected by Jim Cooper, a veteran member of the Building Workers' Industrial Union (NSW Branch) and Union and political activist before his death in 1984. His daughter passed the badges on to Alf Zeeno, ex-secretary of the BWIU, with a request that they be donated to the museum.
Physical Description
Round metal badge. Background is pale blue, with a dark blue boomerang in the centre, and dark blue text on the background, and white text on the boomerang. A pin on the back extends beyond the edge.
Significance
This badge documents the growing political movement led by Aboriginal people in Victoria in the advocacy of Indigenous rights.
