Summary
Tattslotto Barrel used for first Tattslotto draw on 22nd June 1972 at Channel 7 in Melbourne. It was used until 18th July 1990 for the Tattslotto mid-week draw. The machine mixed and drew up to 40 numbered balls. To win the major prize (First Division) you had to select the first six numbers which were drawn from the barrel. There are 2,763,633,600 combinations of drawing six balls from 40. It was made by Hans Brosch Ing. Saarburken, Germany and subsequently modified by RMIT and Tattersalls between 1971 and 1972 before being put into use.
Physical Description
Electric powered machine for mixing and drawing numbered balls consisting of a barrel, chute, drawn ball holder tubes, barrel stand, switch box, case of 45 numbered balls, control panel, plug socket box, metal plate, cable, numbered switch panel and two curved metal rods.
