Summary

White wickerwork pram, made by John James Henderson, a wickerworker, in his pram shop in Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn in 1942. Said to have been made for the third birthday of his daughter Lois Valerie, the size would have been challenging for a small girl as the pram is full-sized, set upon a baby's pram undercarriage.

A doll's cot (SH920375) was said to have been given to Lois at the same time.

The pram was made with the fine cane generally used for expensive baby's prams. The foam base mattress dates from 1968. The pram was repainted in 1968.

Physical Description

Pram made of white cane wickerwork, lined wit h blue plastic lining and blue and pink gingham covered mattress with plast ic lining. Pram has a metal handle, a cane hood and rubber wheels with mud-guards and a brake. The pram, although said to have been made for dolls, has a baby's pram undercarriage.
