Summary
'East Timor: Indonesian Troops Out Now' badge, alternatively known as a button, was made between 1975-1999 during the time of Indonesian rule of East Timor. The de-colonisation process from Portuguese rule of East Timor had begun in 1974. East Timor declared itself independent on 28 November 1975. Indonesia invaded East Timor nine days later, before their independence could be formally recognised. A brief civil war ensued and East Timor was declared Indonesian territory in 1976. East Timor's independence was finally recognised on 20 May 2002.
