Summary
Badge made for the Ethnic Scout & Guide Association of Victoria. Formed in the 1950s the Ethnic Scout and Guide Association of Victoria, comprises scout and guide groups from seven European nationalities, from countries which were all previously under communist rule. The Ethnic Scout & Guide Association Victoria coordinates activities, and runs an annual camp for venturer and rover age groups.
The groups that make up the ESGAV are, the Australian Latvian Scouts & Guides, the Ukrainian Scouts, the Lithuanian Scouts, the Estonian Scouts, the Hungarian Scouts, the Polish Scouts and the Russian Scout Association. Scouting and Guiding were banned in these countries under communist rule and several high ranking Scout and Guide leaders were executed or exiled.
Physical Description
Round metal badge with enamel face and attachable pin on the back. Back is gold colour. Face has green background with gold border and text.
