Badge depicting a young Mao Zedong, Chairman of the Communist Party of China. Millions of these badges, or similar badges, were produced in the People's Republic of China, mostly between the time of the Cultural Revolution in 1966 until 1971. The badges eventually became collectors' items.
Donor collected these badges over a fifteen year period during which he undertook much research in the field of Trade Union Material Culture, and had extensive contact with the Trade Union movement Australia wide.
Physical Description
Circular white plastic button with black and white photograph transferred on to it at the centre. Beneath photograph are Chinese characters in red. On the back safety pin type of clip, Chinese characters beneath this written in red ink. Photograph is of young Mao Zedong.
