The Union was registered in the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission on 11th May 1987, and was formed by the amalgamation of the Western Australian Branch of the Building Workers Industrial Union of Australia and the Federated Engine Drivers & Fireman's Association of Australasia - Smith, p. 101.

Physical Description

Round brass badge with lapel pin pressed to back. Front, red enamelled centre ciricle containing five white spots symbolising the Southern Cross and gold-coloured relief writing on white enamel around outer circumference.
