Badge which was first in a series to be sold to raise funds for the preservation of the Kalgoorlie Trades Hall building. The design incorporates the three figure 8's which represent the Eight Hour Day Movement.
Badge designed by Joe McDonald, and made by Sheridan, 1991. Collected by donor from Kalgoorlie Trades Hall.
Built in 1910, the Trades Hall building was designed by architects Hawkins and Sprigg and constructed from local stone. It was the first Trades Hall to be built in Western Australia. In 1994 it was added to the State Heritage Register.
Physical Description
Gold plated badge with lapel pin pressed to reverse Front, amber enamel circle containing two black enamel figure eights on either side of a gold figure eight ,with gold relief writing on black enamel around outer circumference.
