Amalgamated Metal Workers' & Shipwrights' Union, Victorian Branch badge to hand out to new members. This badge was among a number retained by the Union but became redundant when the Union changed its name in 1980.
The A.M.W. & S.U. changed its name to the Amalgamated Metal Workers' Union in 1980. After undergoing a number of other name changes it amalgamated with the Association of Draughting, Supervisory and Technical Employees to become the Metals and Engineering Workers Union in 1990.

Metal badge of four-petal shape with red and blue enamel and silver metal design and silver lettering. In the centre is a blue map of Australia outlined in silver. Within the map is a silver handshake symbol.
