Summary
Unframed certificate 'Victorian Railways Transportation Employees Association Past Chairman's Certificate' presented to Frank Durran in recognition of services rendered as Chairman of the Geelong Branch, 1908.
The Victorian Railways Transportation Employees Association (VRTEA) represented mainly signalmen, guards and shunters from the Transportation Branch of the Victorian Railways and was formed in 1906 by the amalgamation of the Guards' & Shunters' Association and the Signalmen's Society. In July 1911, it became part of the Victorian Railways Union (VRU).
Note: The design and illustrations on this certificate (except for the bottom two) are identical to that of HT 1523, issued by the Victorian Railways Union in 1912, with only the name of the organisation having been changed.

Illuminated certificate with coloured central inscription reading "VICTORIAN RAILWAYS TRANSPORTATION EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION PAST CHAIRMAN's CERTIFCATE.This is to Certify that Frank Durran held the Office of Chairman of the Geelong Branch. Year 1908."
