Summary
Water-driven bench centrifuge. From era before electric centrifuges. This type was widely used at CSL. Photographs show that centrifuges were positioned next to sinks. Used by Commonwealth Serum Laboratories (CSL) Ltd., Parkville, Victoria. c1910.
Physical Description
Cylindrical metal stand painted white with metal water inlet and outlet pipes, vertical arm supports cylindrical glass and metal appartus at side and extends over top of main body to support central axis spindle. Disc-shaped plate supports 4 hinged metal tubes for holding test tubes.
