Summary
This is a timber sample of Straight Sheoak (Casuarina suberosa) from Victoria.
It was hand-painted by Miss May Vale in 1885 for display at the Industrial and Technological Museum. It was then exhibited at several international exhibitions, including the 1888 Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition and the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
