Model based on specimen grown and presented by Robert Whatmough, Greensborough, 1875. Robert named this particular variety after the property he rented to run his orchard, 'Willis Vale'. The model was made in the Museum by Thomas McMillan for the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition of 1876.
