This wax model is based on a specimen grown and presented to the museum by Robert Whatmough, Greensborough, 1875. The model was made in the museum by Thomas McMillan in 1875.
Synonyms: Blenheim Pippin, Blenheim Orange, Woodstock Pippin, Northwick Pippin, Woodstock, Kempster's Pippin. This apple is a dessert and cooking variety and is harvested from autumn to winter. In some American Nursery Catalogues this variety was erroneously called 'Lord Nelson'.
