1939 pattern steel helmet, British, World War II. Provenance unknown.
Physical Description
Khaki-coloured steel helmet, with smooth crown. Brim all around. Rivet on either side to secure chin strap. Chin strap - cotton canvas centre with canvas covered elastic on each side attached to helmet. Screw in centre of crown. Inside of helmet has leather supporting harness. Inside of helmet at crown circular foam like substance with leather cover and circular hole in centre of pad. Impressed inscription on underside of left side of brim.
