Summary
This is a timber sample of Red Stringybark (Eucalyptus macrorrhyncha) .
It was hand-painted by Miss May Vale in 1885 for display at the Industrial and Technological Museum. It was then exhibited at several international exhibitions, including the 1886 Indian & Colonial Exhibition, London; the 1887 Jubilee Exhibition, Adelaide; the 1888-89 Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition, and the 1889 Exposition Universelle, Paris.
