Single-cylinder 7 nominal horsepower (h.p.) portable steam engine model with locomotive type multitubular boiler, by Ransomes & Sims, Ipswich, Suffolk, England. This is a scale model of the builder's 1859 design.

Associated horse-shafts for engine and tools (x4) for firing and cleaning are registered as parts .2-.6 of same object.

The model belongs to a set of miniature working models that were exhibited at Victorian agricultural shows to promote the firm's products, before being acquired by the museum's director at the time Frederick McCoy.
