This model of the 1783 model Montgolfier balloon was commissioned by the Museum from the maker Mr R.D. Ramsay in 1966.
Physical Description
Wooden hot air balloon model painted blue with yellow decorations of portraits inside ovals, eagles, lions' heads and signs of the zodiac, with wicker basket underneath with red ribbon attached. There are two figures inside the basket. It sits on a raised square platform with stairs on one side and four figures standing on it.
