Summary
Boots Hygienic Inhaler, circa 1920s. Inhalers were used to used to treat chest infections and diseases. According to Scates et al, in World War I: a History in 100 Stories, p.246, 'thousands' of inhalers (atomisers) were distributed after World War I to victims of gas attacks. 'At best they offered temporary relief. At worst they were useless.'
