The Newport Workshops built N 430 hauled a special Centenary-Jubilee train in 1951, commemorating the centenary of the Colony of Victoria and the 50th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Australia. The train comprised eleven carriages containing artworks form the National Gallery of Victoria and other government displays, travelling throughout Victoria and attracting 548,000 visitors.
