Summary
Sewing kit in leather box. It is part of a collection of items which include three visiting card cases, baby's rattle and teething ring, rule, skittle game, box of needles, blotter folder, pencil leads, and carved ivory pen.
Physical Description
Box shaped case covered with maroon leather with gold and blue decoration on the exterior and a metal clasp. The interior of the box has compartments lined with red velvet and silk. There is a mirror in the right side fold out compartment. On the inside of the lid is a large piece of cream coloured leather which has gold lettering on it indicating the days of the week, there is hand writing in pencil for each day. Inside the compartments are: three bobbins made from metal, bone and mother of pearl, a coffee coloured bobbin in different design, two crotchet hooks with bone handles, an unknown tool with a mother of pearl handle, two darning needles, and two pieces of wax with removable metal ends.
