Triode, designed to be used as the output valve in domestic AC mains powered radios. It could produce up to 2 watts of undistorted output.
This type was introduced by RCA in 1929 as the UX245, Over the years the type number became abbreviated to 45 and the bulb changed from the globe shape of this example to the later shouldered 'ST' style.
2.5 V directly heated cathode. Used as a Class A output amplifier.
