Summary
2VPIF triode - "Round Type" triode made for Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co. Ltd. between 1914 and 1915. The asbestos in the exhaust tip was used to maintain the correct gas pressure in this "soft" valve. 2 volt directly heated filament.
The inscription 2V-PIF refers to the filament, indicating that the voltage is 2 and that the material is platinum-iridium.
Manufacturer: Ediswan Lamp Works, England.
Physical Description
Cylindrical bulb with Edison screw base with top exhaust tip containing asbestos (possibly), with two sid econnections, one for grid and one for plate (broken), mounted on display block.
