Significance
When Krishna Raja Wodeyar was installed as Maharaja on 30 June 1799, his regent, Dewan Purnaiya, overhauled the currency system. He revived the old Ikkeri design with the name Sri Krishna Raja. The coins were known as new Ikkeri.
