Other Details: Brass medal issued in 1957 to commemorate the centenary of local government Box Hill. The inaugural meeting to elect the Nunawading District Road Board was held at the Whitehorse Hotel in 1857. Nunawading became a Shire in 1872. It was only in 1925 that the Nunawading Shire was divided to form Box Hill and Nunawading.
