Summary

Copper As of Claudius, Ancient Roman Empire, struck in the period 50 AD to 54 AD. Minted by Rome. Struck late in the reign of Claudius, with the title P(ater) P(atriae) included in the obverse legend. Comparison with his dated gold and silver issues show that the inclusion of PP in the legend did not begin until 50 AD. The reverse continues the use of Minerva which may have begun at the beginning of his rule.
