Significance
The moneyer, Lucius Lucretius Trio, has chosen astronomical themes for the obverse and reverse. On the obverse is the sun-god, Sol. On the reverse a lunar crescent which, on better preserved examples of this coin, has seven stars around it. These seven stars were known as the constellation Triones (chosen as a pun on the moneyer's name).
