1984 Federal election campaign badge promoting the Australian Labor Party (A.L.P.) featuring the slogan 'Put Australia First'. Made by Patrick Bros., Summer Hill, N.S.W. Part of collection of badges collected by Jim Cooper, a veteran member of the Building Workers' Industrial Union (NSW Branch) and Union and political activist before his death in 1984. His daughter passed the badges on to Alf Zeeno, ex-secretary of the BWIU, with a request that they be donated to the museum.
Physical Description
Round badge. White background in upper 2/3 of object with partial Australian flag curved around lower third.The blue part of the flag is lighter than usual. Black text. Badge covered with plastic coating, plastic backing with two holes and room for safety pin.
