Description of Content
Top view of a 13 - Head Rotary Barrel Filler taken in designed and manufactured for Calton and United in Mar. 1959. Photo taken in Vickers Ruwolt Fitting Shop. These machines were developed and designed by Vickers Ruwolt for Carlton and United Brewery. Vickers Ruwolt owned the patents. This is the second machine manufactured for Carlton and United and both were installed in the Carlton Brewery (MM012588 & MM012620). A third machine was also supplied to the CUB Brewery in Cairns, Queensland. In 1972 Vickers Ruwolt manufactured and supplied a similar machine to Stella Artois in Belgium. This required some re-design as European beer casks have their filler cap on the side of the cask unlike Australian which have their filler caps at the end of the cask.
